D-33's

Finally getting down to making the D-33 dungarees.  Been having a lot of very frustrating machine problems, most of which have been beyond my skills to heal.  Can't seem to find a sewing machine mechanic who actually knows these old machines either.

Anyhow, think I've found a way around the issues for now.  Here's a couple snapshots of the first test made in the real fabric.  Will adjust a few stitching things and maybe cinch placement, but digging it so far.  More details to come.

Machines

Union Special 43200 DZ, circa 1950's.  This one's going to need a few modifications, but it should be worth it.  More images after it's set up.

Denimbro Dungaree Project, sample

Made the first pattern draft and sample for the Denimbro contest jean.  Will be making several pattern adjustments (belt loops, pocket opening, upper thigh fit, etc.), but here's roughly what they'll look like.

More details to come.

Weekend Project: Bitters and Liqueurs

Finally had some time to do a fun non-sewing project.  The dandelion liqueur is powerful and quite tasty - some good dark roasted flavors balanced by the spiciness of cloves, allspice, cinnamon, ginger, citrus peels, and a few other secret ingredients.  All held together by the sweetness of raw cane sugar and a bit of molasses.  Need to experiment some more, but I can say that it goes well with bourbon.
