If anyone is in need of an off-the-arm felling machine for a good price let me know.
It's not as nice looking as the old Union Special I'm selling, but it's potentially much more useful.

1930's style Cigarette Pocket Work Shirt, selvage denim
I've been somewhat avoiding doing custom work while I'm trying to focus on the Slowboat Deadstock line, but this one sort of came together just right, and at the right time.
All hand-felled seams and single needle detail throughout. Bar tack's at all stress points.
Ingredients: vintage selvedge denim, vintage enameled metal buttons, all cotton thread.
The fabric is the centerpiece - vintage selvedge denim from the 1930's-1940's. The best I've found so far; lot's of character, a tight weave, and a great shade of indigo. My only regret is that I don't have enough left to make one for myself.
The fabric was such a narrow width that I had to split the sleeve pattern in two in order to fit it on the fabric when folded in half. From what I've seen that was a fairly common practice before the mid-1900's. The neat thing is that it allows for another hidden selvedge detail.

$100 a yard...
Some really nice covert cloth recently on ebay. I tried to get it, but it was too rich for my taste.

Stuff for Sale
Hey folks, I've made a few new things, and had a few returns as well. It's all for sale in my little ol' etsy shop. You can check it out here.
Union Special 53500
I've been experiencing this interesting phenomena where I work all the time, but get more and more broke every day that passes. So in order to keep this fledgling business venture from going under before it's even begun I'm going to need to sell off a few pieces of equipment. Just a few of the ones that I'm not using at the moment, or can make do without for now and buy again later.
I'll be putting this black beauty on craigslist and then maybe ebay. If you know anyone interested in this old chainstitch machine get in touch.

Work Vest, melton wool
The other wool vest sold but was returned, so I went ahead and made another for the same customer. Also tried some different things to see if I could make it easier too work with the thick wool fabric. And lined the pockets with olive drab canvas.
A-1 jeans, series two, update
Finally washed these after a bunch of machine oil spilled on the legs. Knew I should have hand-washed them but took 'em to the laundromat anyway. Washed cold and they shrank about an inch all around - too small to wear now.
Work Vest, duck cloth
I've now finished grading the basic work vest into 7 different sizes. I won't know exactly how well it worked until I see the vests on different people, but it's at least good on paper.
May still need to grade a few more xxl sizes and go down a size smaller, if needed.

Weekend Project
Really more of an evening project I guess. Didn't turn out quite as perfect as I was hoping, but good enough to wear. The fabric is what makes it work - the shell is vintage wool serge from a pair of WWII-era trousers, and the lining is from a WWII vintage wool blanket.
I have enough of the wool serge to make one more hat, if I can find the time to do it. If a new one fits me better then this one may be up for sale.
